This work is in very good condition. The canvas is unlined. Under UV: Some pigments fluoresce erratically due to the artist's original materials and technique.

Catalogue Note

Orville Bulman, a self-taught artist from Grand Rapids and Palm Beach, found his artistic inspiration in the African-American populations of the south and the Caribbean islands, especially Haiti. The popularity of Bulman’s imaginative compositions flourished nationally and internationally. By the time of his death in 1978, he had sold over 2000 paintings, exhibited in 41 one-man shows and attracted many notable collectors including the Duchess of Windsor and Robert F. Kennedy.
