blued octagonal barrel with fore-sight, top strap marked SAVAGE R.F.A Co. MIDDLETOWN. CT / H.S. NORTH PATENTED JUNE 17 1856 / JANUARY 10 1859 MAY 15 1860, inspector's letter T on barrel and frame, inspectors' cartouches JT on left grip, WAT on right, case-hardened loading-lever, latch, trigger, trigger-guard, and hammer, oil-finished walnut grips.
