blued octagonal barrel with fore-sight, top-strap marked ROGERS & SPENCER / UTICA N.Y., serial number 4244 marked on underside of barrel, cylinder, frame and grip-strap and inside of grips, inspector's cartouche RPB marked on left grip panel, inspector's letter stamp B on barrel, frame, hammer, trigger-guard, case-hardened loading-lever and hammer, varnished walnut grips
