Condition
Original canvas. There is a horizontal line running along the top edge where the surface of the canvas is slightly uneven.
There is minor dust and surface dirt, including to the crevices of thicker impasto, with some tiny flecks of loss to one or two of the raised tips, only visible upon extremely close inspection. There are very minor, old frame abrasions along the bottom edge. There are a few tiny, fine lines of vertical craquelure to the top left quadrant, again only visible upon very close inspection, but this excepting the work appears in excellent overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals some areas of minor fluorescence to the left hand side of the composition which appear in keeping with the nature of the Artist's materials and do not suggest retouching.
Housed in a thick gilt frame.
