Condition
Original canvas.
There is a very fine line of small possible craqulure in the upper right hand corner, and one or two smaller traces to the yellow pigments, only visible upon extremely close inspection, but this excepting the work appears in very good overall condition.
Ultraviolet light reveals a few scattered traces of fluorescence and probable retouching to the sitter's left arm and dress area, with a few further, minor traces in the bottom right hand corner. These have all been very sensitively executed.
Housed in an ornate painted and gilt wooden frame.
