Condition

Village Landscape III: The sheet is not laid down, but is adhered to a backing card via two hinge strips along the top edge. The sheet is a leaf taken from a sketchbook, and as such there is a perforated upper edge, with tears and instances of loss in the top corners, none of which is visible in the present mount. There is a very slight instance of loss to the extreme bottom left corner, not visible in the present frame, with a few minor handling marks apparent and staining to the sheet. There is a diagonal crease to the lower left corner. This excepting the work appears in good overall condition, with strong, fresh pencil throughout. Housed behind glass in a thick light wooden frame, set within a cream card mount. Study for Landscape I & II: Unexamined out of frame. The sheets appear fully laid down to a backing card, each unevenly cut. There are signs of light surface matter and studio detritus, with further traces of very light staining apparent. This excepting the works appear in good overall condition. Housed behind glass in thin white wooden frames, set within cream card mounts. Unexamined out of frame.
