Condition
The canvas is not lined. UV examination reveals some scattered small spots and thin lines of retouching to the background, the most prominent of which is a 4cm-long line to the left of the white temple which relates to a repaired tear. There is some wear to parts of the extreme edges, most notably two small canvas losses to the upper corners (not visible when framed). There are faint stretcher-bar marks to the left, upper and right edges and a few fine lines of stable craquelure in places, mainly to the white pigments. Otherwise, this work is in overall good condition.
