Condition
The painting is executed on an unprimed wood panel which is flat and even. There are some scattered horizontal lines of superficial craquelure associated with the grain of the wood. Ultra-violet light reveals some scattered strokes of retouching, notably strengthening to the white pigments to the left and right of the figure's head, below the pear, and in the pinks to the lower left of the table. There are some minor scattered surface scuffs, notably in the pink table leg near the lower edge (visible in the catalogue illustration), apart from which this work is in good condition and ready to hang.
Presented in a simple modern frame. The colours in reality are somewhat less saturated overall than in the catalogue illustration.
