Condition
The canvas has not been lined. Ultra-violet light reveals only minimal signs of retouching: primarily a few scattered pinhead-sized spots in the sky and in the lower right corner, to the right of the signature. There is a small loss in the canvas at the extreme left framing edge, below the centre, which may well be original. This work is in good condition, the impasto well-preserved, and ready to hang.
Presented in a gilt 'Whistler' style frame.
