Condition

The canvas has not been lined. Ultraviolet light reveals some relatively minor scattered signs of retouching, primarily along part of the left of the upper edge, minor scattered spots in the background and near the lower edge, and some minor strokes in the fruit. This work is in good overall condition and ready to hang. Presented in a decorative modern frame.

Catalogue Note

Painted in 1913. According to Fuhrmann (op. cit.), this work was formerly larger and signed lower right, but  the canvas has subsequently been trimmed along all four edges.
