Condition
Overall in good condition. The table with minor shallow surface scratches, nicks, dings and minor abrasions that are consistent with gentle use. There is possibly a later applied finish to the table which has a shiny finish. The edges of the table design with a wonderful slight outward curve. The table top with light fading that appears the result of sun exposure. The table is being offered with two extension leaves. The leaves appear to have been stored separately and display a darker color that the main portion of the table. The leaves each with more concentrated surface scratches that show evidence of a prior restoration to reduce their appearance. The leaves have straight sides and do not continue the subtle outward curve of the table, which is part of the original design. The figuring to the leaves matches and continues the figuring of the table when placed, which is an elegant design statement. There is very nice rounded edge at the ends of the table fitted with metal decoration whether one places the leaves or not, remains at the end of the table. The base of the table with an elegant design that incorporates the same metal inlay device used at the table ends. The brass elements with some minor oxidation consistent with the natural aging process of the material. The base with minor nicks dings and scratches consistent with age and use. The table throughout is executed with deeply figured wood selection that adds great depth to the design.
The chairs with minor shallow surface scratches and nicks and dings to the edges consistent with use. The chairs with minor variation in the coloration throughout the large set, which is likely based on sun exposure. Four of the chairs were executed later to expand the capacity of the dining suite. The armchairs appear to retain the original brass tacks. The upholstery to the set of the chairs is later and executed in a manner consistent with the original design. A nice opportunity to acquire large and adaptable art deco dining suite.
