Condition
Overall in very good condition. The glass with a few scattered minute air bubbles and particulate inclusions inherent in the material and production technique. The surfaces throughout the vase present with minor surface irregularities inherent in the pate-de-verre glass and production technique. As noted in the auction catalogue, there is a small restoration to the rim. The area of restoration measures approximately ½ inch in length and extends approximately ¾ inch down from the rim. The restoration has been sensitively executed by a professional restorer and is only visible upon close inspection with bright reflected light. The coloration of the vase is wonderfully saturated throughout with beautiful deep violet hues to the upper and bottom registers and the selectively in the light colored ground to the midsection of the vase. A wonderful example of the Papyrus model with a sensitively undertaken restoration.
