Condition

Overall in very good condition. The bentwood elements of the chair frames and table frame show gentle rubbing to the finish, concentrated to the high points of the design, shallow surface scratches and minor edge abrasions and dings, all consistent with age and gentle use. The top surfaces of the chair frame with surface scratches and edge abrasions, which is consistent with use. The fabric upholstery on the chairs appears later, and is executed in a manner and material consistent with the original design. The fabric shows only very gentle use, with some fraying at the piping. The table from the suite with some surface scratches, and edge abrasions to the bentwood elements. The hand-hammered brass surfaces to the top of the foot with some minor areas of discoloration, oxidation, and rubbing to the patina all consistent with age and gentle use. The inset fabric to the table is likely later and executed in a manner and material consistent with the original design. This lot is being offered with a later fitted glass top that rest of the edge of the bentwood frame to protect the fabric surfaces. A nice example of the iconic model sensitively re-upholstery to keep the original intent and aesthetic of the design.
