Condition

Overall in very good condition. With some very fine surface scratches to the silvered surfaces scattered throughout consistent with age and gentle use. The interior of the basket's frame, the underside of the handle and the underbase with scattered discolorations and minor tarnishing consistent with age and gentle use. The clear glass insert with some light surface scratches and surface dirt. The base of the glass insert with some localized discoloration spots consistent with contact with the silver basket frame. The gitterwerk design of the basket presents with a beautiful rhythmic form. A very nice small scale design by the artist, which was featured in one of the first advertisements issued by the Wiener Werkstätte in the early 1900s.
