Condition
Overall in fair original condition. This work is partial element of a full figure sculpture that was designed by Iannelli for the Midway Gardens. The head of the figure displays minor edge losses scattered throughout. The reverse of the head with losses and a portion of the structural rebar is exposed. This is part of the original construction of the work and not a later stabilization. The concrete shows minor discoloration throughout, as seen in the catalogue illustration. The present lot includes a later display base that is heavily oxidized throughout. The figure, although only a partial element, shows the stylized figures that dominated Iannellis design from this important commission.
