Condition

Overall in very good condition. The shade is in excellent condition with no visible cracks. The base displays a rich russet brown patina with deep green highlights. The base with a few light surface scratches, lighting rubbing and minor scattered discoloration to the patina, consistent with age. All sockets and pull chains appear to be original and undisturbed. The period finial is slightly out of round; this is not visible once the shade is righted. The shade displays highly nuanced layering of of painted decoration to achieve a strong sense of depth. The predominantly sepia-toned composition of the shade complements the richness of the base’s patina. A harmonious unit showing great technical skill in the execution of the shade decoration.
