Overall in very good original condition. The bed as seen in the catalogue illustration comprised an ivory lacquered headboard decorated with raised fabric paneling. The lacquered portions of the headboard with some scattered shallow surface scratches and a few scattered edge abrasions, consistent with gentle use. The fabric elements displays some evidence of wear and rubbing throughout, as seen in the catalogue illustration. The side rails with gentle surface scratches and some edge abrasions. The slats are in good condition. The bed in assembled in a manner in which the headboard is mounted to a wall and therefore cannot free stand. This lot is sold without a mattress or box spring. This frame is designed to accommodate a king size mattress. A great example of Bonetti’s commission work showing wonderful sculptural nuances throughout.
