Condition
Overall very good original condition. The ashtray some light surface scratches, discoloration and rubbing to the patina throughout, consistent with age and gentle use. The taller outer compartment presents with a minute dent located at the top edge, as seen in the catalogue illustration. One side of the ashtray with some light paint flecks to the surface and some adjacent losses to the patina. The horizontal rods across each ashtray insert are slightly bent as seen in the catalogue illustration. In addition to the artistÂ’s mark, the underbase is engraved on each side with later numbers, 13 and 14. The underbase with remnants of affixed felt pads. A wonderfully dynamic form epitomizing the American Modern spirit of sophisticated, streamlined design and sleek surfaces.
