Condition

Overall the condition of the bronze is good with minor dirt and wear to the surface consistent with age. There are some white, yellow and green dirt residues to the figure's body and to the dolphins. The trident is cast separately and principally in two sections which screw together.

Catalogue Note

Sarrabezolles executed a life-size bronze of La génie de la mer for the city of Marseille. It was recently reinstalled and unveiled in front of the modern office building at 4 Quai d’Arenc. The model also graces the cover of the recent Sarrabezolles exhibtion: Carlo Sarrabezolles 1888-1971.
