Description
- Manuel García y Rodríguez
- Garden in Seville
- signed Garcia y. Rodriguez / Sevilla lower left
- oil on canvas
- 76 by 100cm., 30 by 39¼in.
Provenance
Private collection, France
Condition
The canvas is unlined. A light stretcher mark corresponding to the outer four stretcher bars is visible, and there is a pattern of hairline craquelure notably in the sky, which is slightly raised. Ultra-violet light reveals two small repairs, one circa 3 by 2cm in the fountain, and another circa 1 by 5cm below this (both patched on the reverse). Some other signs of fluoresce are visible under U.V. light, for example in the upper-left corner, which would not appear to correspond to retouching. The work is otherwise in good overall condition.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
