Condition
The canvas has been relined. There are some minor small spots of paint flaking and light surface abrasion below the bench to the lower left of the figures. Under ultra-violet light the old varnish layers fluoresce opaquely making the surface very difficult to read; a few scattered minor retouchings are visible however there may be others which are not apparent. The overall appearance of the work is good and the painting would benefit from a professional surface clean to address the old yellowed varnish layers.
The catalogue illustration is reasonably accurate however the colours are somewhat more luminous in reality.
Presented in a patinated white decorative frame, with a nameplate.
