Condition
The canvas has been strip-lined only along the upper tacking edge. Under ultra-violet light only very minor scattered signs of retouching are visible, notably spots in the whites of the clouds and in part of the woman's blue dress in the lower-right quadrant. This painting is in good condition and ready to hang.
The colours are overall richer in reality than in the catalogue illustration, and less pink.
Presented in a substantial gilt rococo-style frame.
