Condition

The canvas has been relined. There are a few very minor spots of paint flaking in the background towards the upper-right. Ultra-violet light reveals notably an area of retouching above and to the left of the figure and in the lower left, numerous strokes in the background, in part of the glass jar the figure is holding, and possibly to the figure's face. The painting's overall appearance under normal light is good and it is ready to hang. Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
