Condition
Original canvas. There is a very faint vertical stretcher mark at the centre of the composition. Ultra-violet light reveals some scattered retouchings which are minor relative to the overall size of the painting, notably intermittent strokes along the framing edges and some clustered very thin strokes in the figure's hair, her chin and in the background adjacent. This painting is in good condition and ready to hang.
The colours are deeper in reality than in the catalogue illustration, and the figure and sheet less pink.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
