Condition
The canvas has not been lined. There are some lines of faint craquelure and some minor areas of hairline paint shrinkage in some of the darker pigments which appear to be entirely stable. Under ultra-violet light the old varnish fluoresces relatively evenly and there are no notable visible signs of retouching. This painting is in good condition and its appearance could be further enhanced with a light surface clean.
The colours in reality are warmer than in the catalogue illustration.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame.
