Literature

Max Klinger, Bestandskatalog der Bildwerke, Gemälde und Zeichnungen im Museum der bildenden Künste, exh. cat., Museum der Bildenden Künste, Leipzig, 1995, 'Zeichnungen' (Karl-Heinz Mehnert & Suzanne Petri), p. 282, no. C.813; p. 2, illustrated

Condition

Executed on wove paper. The sheet is hinged along the upper edge at two points to the mat. The sheet is slightly darker within the composition, probably relating to a previous mat covering the outer edges. This work is in good condition, and the paper tone slightly fresher in reality than in the catalogue illustration, with less yellow. Presented framed and under glass, the edges of the sheet (though not the composition) covered by the mat and not visible framed.
