Condition
This painting is in good condition, and its appearance could be transformed with a surface clean to address the old yellowed varnish.
The canvas has an old relining. There is a very minor spot of paint flaking to the right of the girl in the lower right quadrant, a small indentation in the canvas in the upper right, and some fine hairline craquelure which is slightly raised in part of the lower left quadrant. Under ultraviolet light the old yellowed varnish fluoresces opaquely and makes the surface difficult to read, however there appear to be only very minor retouchings, notably a few scattered spots in the sky which have discoloured over time and are visible to the naked eye, and a few possible strokes in the central tower.
Presented in a decorative gilt frame, with a nameplate.
