Catalogue Note
It is interesting to note the close similarities in design to a fire fender, purchased by Louis-Philippe from Maison Cornier at the Exposition des produits de l'Industrie of 1839. The fire fender was delivered to the Palais de St. Cloud on July 16, 1839 and placed in the Salon de Mercure.
