Condition

This impressive early print, with an astonishing range of tones, is on warm-toned double-weight paper with a semi-matte surface. It is in generally excellent condition. The margin edges are rubbed, with faint graphite deposits at the edges and graphite offsetting in the upper right margin. The upper margin at the left appears to be slightly abraded. This is not evident except under very close examination and does not affect the image in any way. On the reverse of the print are several small tape remnants and abrasions at the upper edge and on all four corners from prior hinging and mounting. The print's periphery is appropriately age-darkened on the reverse.
