Description
- Two Pairs of Curtains
- woven chenille
- 250 by 220cm., 98 1/2 by 86 1/2 in. and 250 by 160cm., 98 1/2 by 63in.
- Designed circa 1900.
Condition
Please note that the curtains are not embroidered linen but woven chenille.
The shorter pair with a turn-up of approximately 60cm each.
Please note that the catalogue illustration is the smaller pair. Colours are brighter than suggested on the catalogue illustration.
Smaller curtains have wear to lower edge, along approx. 12 cm. Some discoloration to backing material. Lining is probably recent but has strips of fading. One has water stains along bottom lining.
The wider pair :
One curtain similarly lined to the smaller pair, some wear to side and bottom edge. Some discoloration to the backing material. The other curtain has extensive wear to both long edges and the bottom edge and within the curtain itself, with losses and tears to two vertical strips, within the right half. Lining is faded, torn and with several stains to the bottom edge.
