Description

  • Pair of Hanging Street or Station Lanterns
  • the top of each cast with REVO TIPTON
  • cast-iron, brass and glazed
  • approximate height: 94cm., 37in.

Condition

Both of these very decorative lights will require re-wiring. The surface finish shows signs of distress from exposure to the elements. There is also evidence of rust. They have probably been re-glazed at some point and the green painted finish is probably later. The exposed brass finish on the glazed mullions has probably been recently cleaned. They have great charm. These lanterns are also of some weight. Acquired from Christie's South Kensington, European Furniture, lot 272.
