  • Two Shop Signs; A Sports Jacket and A Pair of Blue Jeans
  • carved walnut
  • one 109cm., 43in.; the other 81.5cm., 32in.
  • Probably made circa 1950.

Condition

Great fun. Traces of some polychrome. Both have had worm in the past. Notably the jacket which shows signs of treatment and there are losses from this attack to the underside. The jeans with a hole to the crease and a rusty nail visible. Old chips, marks and wear throughout mostly from exposure to the elements. Evidence of hanging devices and later hanging devices attached to the reverse. Acquired from Christie's, New York, 2.2.05, lot 959.
