Beuchat was an early enthusiast and pioneer of undersea diving, the companies early success was consolidated by the invention in 1947 of the first speargun the ‘Tarzan’, in 1953 of the first Isothermic wetsuit and in 1958 of the Compensator mask. The iconic Tarzan wetsuit arrived in 1963, the apogee of Beuchat’s creativity and was beloved by luminaries such as Jacques Cousteau and Frederic Dumas.
