single leaf, approximately 140mm. by 200mm., with Adonis in the arms of the nymphs as they pull him from the Myrtle tree (here with a baby’s face at the base of one of its branches), as all are crowned with garlands of flowers carried by two cherubs, all above an empty rectangular compartment, verso with date 1561, inscriptions in German and Latin, the signature of “Jons Rauschinus”, and folio number “30”, signature discoloured (perhaps through use of reagent), other small spots, else good condition, painted wooden frame
