Ref. 5100 was produced as a limited edition in 2000 and was aptly named the Millennium. Its flared rectangular shape is inspired by the 1950s Ref. 2554, the 'Manta Ray'.
In total, 1500 yellow gold examples of Ref. 5100 were produced. Following the creation of Ref. 5100, Patek Philippe vowed to destroy the machinery used to create the watch, effectively making this the last available model to feature this iconic shape.
