Condition

Movement running at time of cataloguing, however it was not tested for the accuracy of time and may need service at the buyer's discretion. Movement in overall good condition with very slight plating loss. Dial overall clean, extremely light hairline between 5 and 8 o'clock. Case back does not close securely. Engraving on the case back reads "Lembranca de Alfredo J A Bustos ao Particular Amigos A Bain Mackie 1925" The strap of this watch contains endangered species; please see Important Notices for further information.

The present lot, made for Chronometro Gondolo in Brazil, is one of five known cushion shape cases made for the firm. Of further interest is the fact that of this small group, only two are known with roman numerals indexes.
