Catalogue Note

The portrait on the present lot is of the royal H.H. Rana Saheb of Porbander and the inscription on the cuvette is dedicated to him.

The insignia and flag on the reverse is representative of the Royal House of Porbander and addionally the name of the ruler, Maharana Shri Bhav Sing Ji, is also inscribed within the royal seal.  From this we might presume that this lot was a gift from the Maharana Shri Bhav Sing Ji of Porbander to H.H. Rana Saheb of Porbander.
