  • A GOLD AND ENAMEL QUARTER REPEATING WATCH WITH CONCEALED EROTIC SCENE CIRCA 1820 AND LATER
  • gold and enamel on both pocketwatches
  • diameters 54 mm and 55 mm
• gilt full plate movement, bridge pierced and engraved with scrolls • gilt-metal cuvette, white enamel dial, Arabic numerals, the interior painted with a polychrome enamel scene of a lady in her boudoir surprised by her maid, the outer lid, later painted with a polychrome enamel scene representing a couple within a landscape • accompanied by a gilt metal quarter repeating watch circa 1830 •  with later fitted concealed erotic automaton • the back panel with later painted polychrome enamel scene from classical history • (2 pieces)

Condition

the first running, repeat is out of phase and will also require revision, chip around on dial around screw, the back panel is modern as is the interior scene, the second; automaton is a modern addition including crudely executed figures and set up, the back panel also with new enamel and poorly executed, not running, repeating but will require overhaul, striking in phases automaton working, not running
