- A VERGE WATCH WITH MOCK PENDULUM CONVERTED TO A DESK TIMEPIECECIRCA 1680 AND LATER
- Gold - CLOCK
- height 37 mm and diameter 54 mm
• gilt verge movement, split Egyptian pillars, the backplate fitted with a gouache portrait miniature, probably of Queen Anne wearing a crown and ermine trimmed cape • gold champlevé enamel dial with eccentric chapter ring at 12 o'clock, aperture below with mock pendulum, with blued steel regulator dial, the reserves engraved with scrolls • now converted to a gold tambour case with glazed panels and pad legs
Condition
Not running fully wound, case probably done in the 20th century, dial in fact exceptionally nice.
