The movement is running at the time of cataloguing, however, it would benefit from a service in the near future and perpetual calendar needs to be re-calibrated. The plate has a scratch near the "Swiss" close to the screw. Case with light scuffs from general wear. There is a small ding on the left-hand side, top lug and the left-hand side bottom lug. The dial is spotted near 6 o'clock. Edge of the dial is worn between 8 and 10 o'clock. Dial appears to have had no restoration and has a nice patina "Patek Philippe Genève" inscription is very crisp. Reference 1526 was manufactured from 1941 until 1952 and together with Reference 1518 was the first perpetual calendar wristwatch produced in series by any company.

According to research approximately 210 pieces were made over twelve years of production.
