Catalogue Note

With a Certificate of Authenticity dated 13 January 2011.

In 2010, Van Cleef & Arpels created a limited series of eight 'Midnight Extraordinary Japanese Lacquer' wristwatches. These stunning pieces, each depicting different landscape scenes, were created in collaboration with renowned artist Hakose San, whose brilliant and meticulously crafted lacquered designs were also used in Van Cleef & Arpel's Papillons Laqués designs, among others.

The present example is titled 'Midnight Sansui to Hasu', meaning 'stream and lotus flowers at midnight'.
