- A GILT BRASS MYSTERY NIGHT TIMEPIECE LATE 19TH CENTURY
- gilt brass - CLOCK
- Height overall 14 in (35.56 cm)
• 4 inch frosted glass dial, Roman numerals, circular gilt brass bezel, with gilt arrow style hand, the dial mounted on a winged griffin pedestal, the back fitted with candlestand holder in the form of a dolphin, rising from a shaped rectangular case with scroll and strapwork decoration, with plinth-style feet • the glass disc is driven by cords that run along the periphery of the of the glass disc and then connects below to the movement, with Debaufre chaff cutter escapement
Condition
Frosted glass dial appears to be original, some rubbing to case finish.
