Catalogue Note

An early printing of this important wall-map, issued from Arrowsmith’s Rathbone Place premises. Dedicated to Major James Rennell (1742-1830) and including the track of the Lion 1793 (one of the vessels that went with Staunton to China in 1794).The esteemed surveyor-general for the East India Company, Rennell had brought out a Bengal Atlas in 1781 and continued to publish maps of India during the 1790s.
