Catalogue Note

The black and white images appear to have been taken by an amateur photographer, whereas the coloured images appear to have been produced by various commercial photographers. They show topographical views, buildings, river scenes with boats, portraits of people and trades, in various locations including Beijing (the Summer Palace and Forbidden City), Hankow, and along the Great Wall.
