The composite edition of Lambert’s classic work on conifers. BM(NH) notes “a second edition… was issued in 1828 and to these a third volume was added in 1837… The three volumes were afterwards re-issued with varying title-pages… and appear to have been more or less ‘made up’”. Henrey 925 also notes that “in each edition there are great variations in the contents among different copies”. Accordingly copies vary in their composition and number of plates.
