Catalogue Note

A rare first edition of this book, containing important photographic illustrations of the Hijaz, offered with the original photograph of Solyman Pasha Ibn Rafada, chief of the tribe of Beli, published in this book, together with other unpublished photographs by the author and by his travelling companion, the photographer Muhammad Sa'udi, who took the first stereoview photographs of Mecca and Medina in 1904 and 1908.
