Catalogue Note
A good copy of "the most important English colour plate book on Norway" (Tooley).
This two volume first edition (in book form) is more desirable than the single volume second edition of the same date: the paper is larger and the impressions better. The work originally came out in eight parts between 1811 and 1820 and the watermarks on this copy, where noted, date from 1811 to 1818. The work is to be found catalogued in the standard reference works under any one of Boydell, Edy or Tooke.
