Provenance

early nineteenth-century bibliographical notes in French on front endleaves, possibly initialled "DB", and mentioning Brunet (published in 1821)

Literature

Both editions are very rare: ISTC records only six copies of the first work, and four copies of the second. The same printer's device appears in both works; it is printed rather more faintly in the first work, perhaps indicating that the Sacro Bosco was printed earlier in 1494.

Martinus Magistri (c. 1432-1482) was almoner of the king and a doctor at the Sorbonne.
