Catalogue Note
Jean de Montluc, a diplomat for François I, was declared a heretic by Rome in 1574. This treatise of his is an apology for the St Bartholomew's Day Massacre, which took place in Paris on 24 August 1472.
Galesini's treatise is about the Sistine Septuagint (see lot 25).
