Catalogue Note
On the day of publication, just six months into the reign of Edward VI, a proclamation announced that this work should be read during church services, and a later proclamation of September 1548 banned all other sermons. Grafton had become King's Printer in April 1547, and went on to produce early editions of the Book of Common Prayer (see lot 33).
